City Boards and Commissions,
The city maintains several boards and commissions. The Boards/Commissions powers and responsibilities are outlined in the City Charter. Generally all Boards and Commissions serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. Boards are typically tasked with formulating policy recommendations for city leadership. However some boards may wield limited executive authority for example the Muskogee Housing Authority Board has the authority to independently hire a executive director for the agency.
